Helping unemployed youth in South Africa
South Africa is facing a Youth Unemployment EPIDEMIC. 42% of individuals between the ages of 18 to 25 are Unemployed - even the ones with Degrees! This is a major problem for South Africa and for the country's economy. The Youth are tired, frustrated, demotivated and angry. Why did they bother studying if they can't secure jobs?
However, #HireAGrad has a solution to get the ball rolling and impact REAL CHANGE in Africa! Entrepreneurs like Nikki Pahliney are connecting the dots to bring the right people together, to enact change and make a difference to South Africa. Bringing together Business Leaders, Academia and Unemployed Youth to invest in Scarce Skills Development, so that unemployed graduates can hit the ground running, whilst specifically targeting INDUSTRY DEMAND!
By addressing Supply and Demand of Scarce Resources in Business, #HireAGrad can begin to address the MASSIVE issue of Youth Unemployment in South Africa, and in the Rest of Africa.
#HireAGrad will facilitate initial Youth Analytics Crash-Course Graduate Training for selected Graduates, over a period of four to six months, whilst including relevant industry research to complete, as part of the practical application of knowledge learnt. Industry research to complete will be sourced via various clients and sectors, which have expressed interest in the graduate initiative.

To get #HireAGrad off the ground; to begin training and enabling Unemployed Graduates; to get Individuals, Business and Academia involved in making this initiative a success; and to start making a difference to the lives of many well-educated and unemployed future SHINING STARS, with unlimited and untapped potential.
Medium to Long-Term Goal:
To build a Profitable and Sustainable Entity, of Graduates enabling Graduates, in collaboration with Individuals, Businesses and Academia.
#HireAGrad is about teaching Graduates how to become skilled, enabled and self-sufficient (how to fish for themselves), so that they will in turn give back to their Communities and South Africa.
Long-Term Goal:
To become the foremost Creator of Scarce Skills Work Opportunities and the Provider of Graduate Scarce Skills Development in South Africa. A B-BBEE business initiative, OWNED and RE-INVESTED IN by the Graduates coming through our training programmes.
To create 10 000 brand new work opportunities for unemployed graduates by 2030, via Scarce Skills Development and in partnership with Business.

What will your Sponsorship/Donation be used for (more info here)?
Small Stipends/Wages for our Graduates and for our selfless staff (also Graduates themselves): just enough to help them cover basic living costs, travel expenses and rent on a monthly basis.
Basic Materials, Furniture and Resources: Laptops, Desks, Chairs, Access to Internet, Training Materials, Stationary, and more.
Daily Meals for our Graduates - sandwiches, fruit and juice packs
Rental for a venue or location from which to start training and run our operations. Currently we are working out of our homes and cars, going to Graduates and potential Investors, or holding Telephonic conversations, to make this initiative a reality!
Payment for any software, licenses or training curriculum development
Payment of basic monthly costs, including Accounting Fees, Banking Fees and contingency/emergency costs.
